Rand News Update │ Rand strengthen to trade below 15.20

The South African rand strengthen in yesterday’s session to trade below 15.2000 level. It reached its best level of 15.1550 but it was very short lived. The predicted trading range for the rand today is between 15.0500 and 15.5500.

Investors are worried as Russia attacked the biggest nuclear plant in Ukraine. It’s the largest of its kind. The local unit’s recovery is because of strong commodity prices as South Africa is a wealthy commodity-exporting country.

In coronavirus news, the South African Health Department recorded 1853 new infections over the latest 24-hour monitoring period and a total of 41 deaths. It relates to a positivity rate of 6.5% and a recovery rate of 96.6%. A total of 31.7 million vaccines administered in the country so far.
