Rand News Update │ Rand trading at level of 15.5000

The South African rand is trading at a level of 15.5000 as markets are waiting for the next global headlines to give direction to the rate. The local unit traded between a range of 15.2600 and 15.4275 during yesterday’s session. The predicted trading range for the rand today is between 15.2000 and 15.6500.

The situation in Ukraine is still the most important influence of the market activity. Price action continue to be ware and careful. Another big city in Ukraine, Kharkiv has come under fire by rocket strikes. There has been reported that at least 10 people were killed and 35 people wounded.

The Russian Rouble has declined to record lows while the world stock prices slipped, and oil prices increased. This come as a result of more sanctions put in place against Russia. Some of the sanctions include European banks blocking Swift global payments.
